Claygate WI offers women of all ages and backgrounds a unique chance to come together and share experiences, to make friends, to make a difference in our community, to learn new skills and to get out and about and have fun.
History.
​
The WI has been inspiring women for over 100 years. Formed in 1915, the Women's Institute was originally brought to life to revitalise rural communities and encourage women to become more involved in producing food during the First World War. Since then the organisation's aims have broadened and the WI is now the largest voluntary women's organisation in the UK.

Claygate WI.

A Claygate WI membership offers an exciting programme of speakers, activities, subsidised events and subgroups as well as an opportunity to take part in community events and campaigns. You will automatically become a member of the Surrey and National Federations of Women's Institutes and receive regular copies of WI Life Magazine.
